Estes Park resident Don Hood died Thursday evening, November 29, 2018 at Longmont United Hospital. He was 90 years old. Donald Paul Hood was born October 11, 1928 in Dixon, IL. His parents were Willis and Florence (Murphy) Hood. Don enlisted in the United States Army in 1950, served 2 years active followed by 4 years in the Army Reserves. On April 10, 1953 he married Mary Ellen Vandewiele in Dixon. Don was a power plant shift supervisor for Public Service Company at the Fort St. Vrain Nuclear Power Plant after working several years in Denver, CO. After retirement, the couple moved to Estes Park in 1994 where they were members of Mountain View Bible Fellowship. Mary Ellen died November 28, 2016. Don is survived by 3 sons Gary (Jill) of Loveland, CO, Kenneth (Lori) of Phillipsburg, MT, Gregory (Susan McLean) of Longmont, CO a daughter Linda Hood of Greeley, CO. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will celebrate Don’s life on Friday December 7, 2018 at 2:00 PM at Mountain View Bible Fellowship.
