Verna Noreen Hogue was a devoted wife, a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and a cherished friend to many. She married the love of her life, James Hogue, at just 16 years old, and together they shared 69 wonderful years of marriage. Their love for adventure took them around the world, creating memories that will be treasured forever.
As a mother, Verna’s greatest joy was supporting her four children in every way possible. She was actively involved in their lives, from being a room mom to cheering them on in sports and activities. Her love only grew as she welcomed 8 grandchildren and later 16 great-grandchildren, each of whom she treasured dearly.
Verna had a passion for playing bridge, where she formed lifelong friendships and enjoyed many hours of laughter and camaraderie. Her faith guided her throughout her life, and she dedicated herself to volunteer work through the Baptist church and the Gideon Foundation, always seeking ways to serve others.
Family was the heart of Verna’s life. She kept everyone connected through family reunions and cherished traditions, especially Christmas, her favorite holiday. Every Christmas Eve, she gathered her loved ones for fondue, a tradition that will live on in her honor.
Verna’s love, kindness, and unwavering dedication to her family and faith will never be forgotten. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit lives on in the countless lives she touched.
Forever in our hearts.
