Audrey Marie Schertl, 97, of Leesburg, Florida, passed away on September 16, 2026, in Tavares, Florida. She was born on January 30, 1929, in New York City, New York, to parents Andrew and Elizabeth Leibel.
Audrey worked as a bookkeeper, a role that reflected her steady diligence and care in all she did. She shared 65 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Paul Schertl, building a life marked by devotion, constancy, and quiet strength.
Audrey is predeceased by her husband of 65 years, Paul; her mother and father; sister, Theresa Foley; and brother, Robert McKernen.
Audrey is survived by her children, Paul Schertl of South Carolina, Peter Schertl of Leesburg, Florida, John Schertl (Anita), of Leesburg, Florida, Diane Triana (Art) of Grand Island, Florida, and Carol Lang (Jay) of Arizona; grandchildren, Christopher (Lindsay) of South Carolina and Lizzy of North Carolina; and great-grandchildren, Jake and Chase, both of South Carolina.
Visitation will be held at Harden-Pauli Funeral Home, 1617 South Bay Street, Eustis, FL 32726, on September 23, 2026, from 5:30 pm to 7:30 pm.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mary of the Lakes, 218 Ocklawaha, Eustis, FL 32726, on September 24, 2026, at 10:00 am.
A Committal Service will follow at Florida National Cemetery, 6502 SW 102nd Ave, Bushnell, FL 33513, on September 24, 2026, at 1:00 pm.
