Buena E. Hey, 97, of Mount Dora, Florida, passed away on April 24, 2026. Born July 31, 1928, in Pine Grove, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late James H. and Beatrice Burkett. After living in Orlando for more than 70 years, Buena moved in 2019 to Tavares, Florida. Throughout her long life, she carried herself with quiet dignity and steady purpose, leaving a lasting impression on those who knew her. Buena devoted herself to education through her work as a teacher at the Orlando Baptist Temple, where her commitment and care for others were evident in the way she served. She was also a faithful member of Orlando Baptist Temple. Buena is survived by eight nieces and nephews: Michael Burkett, Elsa Braumberg, Darrelene Herman, Gail Bush Burkett, Della Turnbull, Rex Hembree, Brenda Smith, and Beatrice Dale. Private Interment will be held at Tavares Cemetery, Tavares.
