Diane Greene Thornburg, a lifelong resident of Eustis, Florida, passed away on September 9, 2026, at the age of 80. Born on November 13, 1945, in Eustis, Diane was the daughter of Dedrick and Marie Greene and a proud graduate of Eustis High School, Class of 1963.
Diane dedicated her working life to beekeeping, a calling that reflected her steady care, patience, and deep respect for the natural world. An avid animal lover, she had a special place in her heart for animals and found great joy in caring for them throughout her life. She was also a faithful attendee of First Baptist Church of Eustis, where she found community and fellowship throughout her life.
Above all, Diane carried an enduring love for her daughter, Shannon Thornburg, who preceded her in death. Shannon remained forever close to Diane’s heart, and the love she held for her daughter was a defining part of her life.
Diane is survived by her longtime partner, Robert Hauser of Eustis, Florida; and extended family, Christopher Hauser and Miranda Grantham, also of Eustis.
Diane will be remembered for the life she built in the community she always called home, her love of animals and the natural world, and her deep devotion to those she loved.
A memorial service will be held at Harden/Pauli Funeral Home in Eustis on Thursday, October 15th, 2026 at 11:00 AM
