Edward John Kulikowski, 87, passed away on October 12, 2026. Born on January 19, 1939, in New Britain, Connecticut, he was the son of the late John Nicholas Kulikowski and Evelyn (Gavalis) Kulikowski. Ed attended Prince Technical School in Hartford, Connecticut, before proudly serving his country for four years on active duty in the United States Navy. He achieved the rank of Electrician's Mate Second Class and served aboard the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt (CVA-42). Following his military service, Ed built a successful career in the electrical industry. He owned and operated United Electric in Avon, Connecticut, and later worked at the U.S. Army Cold Regions Research and Engineering Laboratory (CRREL) in Hanover, New Hampshire, Mass Fire Alarms in Lowell, Massachusetts, and Fire Alarm Distributors of Vermont. Ed married the love of his life, Lynda (Mascolo) Kulikowski, with whom he shared 61 wonderful years of marriage until her passing in 2022. A longtime resident of Avon, Connecticut, Ed later made his home in Vermont before eventually retiring to the warmth and sunshine of Florida. Ed was a lifelong accordion player, enjoyed dancing, golfing, good Polish food, and keeping a watchful eye on the skies. Affectionately known as the family's "eternal weatherman," he was always ready with the latest forecast or a prediction of what Mother Nature had in store. It was one of the many endearing qualities that made Ed uniquely himself. Ed leaves behind his three children: daughters Lisa Bates and her husband, Eric, of Croydon, New Hampshire, and Julie Kulikowski of Washington, D.C.; and son Michael Kulikowski and his wife, Meghan, of Essex Junction, Vermont and 10 grandchildren. He is also survived by his sister, Rosanne Lamson, and her husband, Reginald; his sister-in-law, Barbara Kulikowski; and his very special companion, Ruth Merklinger. In addition to his beloved wife, Lynda, Ed was predeceased by his brother, Steven Kulikowski. Memorial donations may be made in Ed's memory to the Eustis Elks Lodge #1578, P.O. Box 1660, Eustis, FL 32727-1660, or to the Cornerstone Hospice Foundation, 2445 Lane Park Road, Tavares, FL 32778.
