James Thomas Johns, age 61, passed away on July 27, 2026, in Nokesville, Virginia. Born on March 2, 1965, in Eustis, Florida, Tom lived a life full of adventure, service, and dedication to those around him. Tom proudly served his country for 22 years in the United States Air Force, retiring as a Master Sergeant. His time in the military was marked by commitment and excellence, leaving a legacy of honor and respect among his peers. After his retirement from the Air Force, Tom continued to embody the values of hard work and service by always lending a helping hand to anyone in need. Whether it was fixing something around the house, troubleshooting a computer issue, or simply being there for someone who needed support, Tom’s generosity knew no bounds. A man of boundless energy and enthusiasm, Tom was known for diving headfirst into projects with gusto. His spirited nature often led him to juggle multiple tasks at once—sometimes completing only a few but always giving his all. This zest for life extended into his hobbies as well. He found joy in hiking through nature’s beauty, camping under the stars, cross-country skiing through snowy landscapes, capturing moments through photography, and riding motorcycles on open roads. Tom’s love for adventure was matched only by his love for his family. He is survived by the love of his life, Kim Johns; his three children: Ryan (Rachel) and their children Ashton, Ember, and Nora; Kyle (Coco); and Lauren (Bobby). Tom cherished every moment spent with them and took immense pride in their lives and accomplishments. He is reunited in eternal peace with his parents, James and Karen Johns. Tom’s vibrant personality and unwavering willingness to help others left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. His presence brought light to every room he entered and comfort to those who needed it most. Though he has departed from this world too soon, his memory will live on in the hearts of those who loved him. May James Thomas Johns rest in peace and may his memory bring comfort to all who knew him until we meet again.
