After raising her children, Jan worked as a pastoral secretary, a role that reflected her steady dedication and the quiet care she brought to those around her. In 2019, she moved to Tavares, Florida, from Belmont, North Carolina.
She is survived by her sons, David (Suzy) Phipps of Winston-Salem, North Carolina, and Danny (Ashley) Phipps of Lake Forest Park, Washington; her daughter, Debra (Ryan) Dunaway of Eustis, Florida; her brother, Jon (Bev) Peeples of Greer, South Carolina; and her five granddaughters: Faith, Annie, Violet, Alexandra, and Coraline.
Jan will be remembered as a devoted mother who gave her children a loving and caring home, and as a loyal friend whose kindness, warmth, and listening ear touched many lives. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Solaris Healthcare Waterman for the loving care, kindness, and dignity they showed Jan throughout her final years. Your dedication and friendship brought her comfort and meant so much to the family.
Jan will be laid to rest at Greenwood Cemetery in Eustis, Florida.
