

John Edwin Dennie, age 69, was born on August 6th, 1956 in Charleston, WV to the late John and Mary Dennie of St Albans WV and Mulberry, FL. He passed away May 28th, 2026. John was an avid student with 14 years of higher education to his credit. In 1978, John graduated from Duke University with degrees in Chemistry and Biology. He went on to medical school at West Virginia University where he also finished his residency in Internal Medicine. His anesthesiology training was completed at Emory University in Atlanta where he also was a fellow in Cardio Thoracic Anesthesia. John received the highest honor while training at Emory, the Robert Dripps Memorial Award which is awarded by the faculty and given to the most outstanding resident. John was the first unanimously voted recipient of that award. Dr Dennie was offered a faculty position at Emory and jobs at various hospitals in the Atlanta area. He moved to Florida in 1987 and practiced anesthesia in Tallahassee and Central Florida. John was married to his wife Jane for 45 years. He will be lovingly remembered by her and their three children: Marin Dennie, Morgantown, WV; Braydon Dennie, Eustis, FL; Kaelyn Dennie Feliciano (Luis) Deland, FL; two grandsons Jackson Joel and Callum Jace Feliciano and a baby granddaughter on the way. Additionally, John is survived by his brother Gregg and his wife Debbie and their children and grandchildren; and many cousins and aunts and uncles. A private memorial service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers contributions may be offered in his name to CurePSP.org
