Mary graduated from Bedford High School and went on to earn an Associate’s Degree from George Mason College. She was a proofreader for an agency of the U.S. Government, bringing care and precision to work that depended on a sharp eye and a thoughtful mind.
A devoted member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, Mary’s life reflected quiet faith and constancy. In her personal time, she found deep enjoyment in reading, crocheting, and cross stitching—including donating handmade hats for the newborns at local hospitals - pursuits that suited her patient spirit and appreciation for detail.
Mary is survived by her sister, Barbara Staley (Mike), two nieces and their spouses and families, and many cousins across the USA.
Private arrangements will be held at Park Cemetery in Carthage, MO, on June 20, 2026.
