Maxine B. Sherman

Maxine B. Sherman, 86, of Tavares, Florida, passed away on July 5, 2026. She was born on September 18, 1939, in Cutler, Maine. Born in Cutler, Maine to the late Macey and Dorothy Huntley, Maxine later made her home in Central Florida in 1981 after coming from Red Bank New Jersey. In her working life, Maxine was employed as a waitress, a role through which she served others with steady dedication and care. Maxine was a member of St. Mary of the Lakes Catholic Church in Eustis. She was also affiliated with AMVETS Post 1992 of Eustis, VFW Post 8087 of Eustis, and the Knights of Columbus. Maxine is survived by her son, Richard Dennis Butler of Grand Island, FL; her son, Macey (Susan) Butler of Tavares, FL; her daughter, Victoria Osgood of Grand Island, FL; her sister, Twyla Martin of South Carolina; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her Husband, Thomas L. Sherman. Graveside Services will be held at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell on Friday, July 17, 2026 at 10:00 AM when she will be laid to rest with her late husband.
