Robert Harold Phillips, 79, of Mount Dora, Florida, passed away on September 11, 2026. Born June 16, 1947, in Eustis, Florida, he was the son of the late John Thomas and Martha Phillips, and remained a lifelong resident of the area he called home. Robert served his country as a Vietnam Veteran in the United States Air Force, a commitment marked by steady duty and quiet strength. He later built a long and reliable career with CSX Transportation, retiring as a Signalman—work that reflected his careful attention, steadfast responsibility, and the pride he took in doing things the right way. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carly Phillips of Mount Dora; and several cousins, nieces, and nephews. A graveside service will be held at Umatilla Cemetery, Golden Gem Dr, Umatilla, FL 32784, on September 18, 2026, at 11:00 am.
