Roland Stephen Watson

A man of steady purpose and quiet strength, Roland built his life on hard work and responsibility. He took some college and spent his working years as a truck driver—an honest profession that reflected his dependable nature and the pride he took in doing what needed to be done. He had lived in Florida since 1992, after coming from Delaware, and made his home in Leesburg, Florida.

Roland found genuine enjoyment in the thrill and tradition of racing, with a special love for NASCAR. Those who knew him will remember how that passion brought him simple, lasting pleasure and a sense of connection to the sport he admired.

He is survived by his wife of twenty-two years, Sarah D. Watson of Leesburg, Florida; his sons, Michael Watson of Newark, Delaware and Leland Cromwell of Homosassa, Florida; his daughters, Monica Burns of Baltimore, Maryland and Tuesday Meng of Geneva, Florida; his brother, Robert Watson of Chester, Pennsylvania; his sister, Dorothy Watson of Seaford, Delaware; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and cousins.
