With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Suzanne K. Barton, who peacefully passed away on July 3, 2026 at the age of 79.
She was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on August 8, 1946. Sue graduated from Saint Maria Goretti High School and attended some college at Lake Sumter. Sue had a career at United Southern Bank for over 30 years. While there, she wore many hats. The one that she blessed so many with was customer service representative at the main bank. Sue had a servant heart and was always willing to help anyone she could.
She was the heart of our family—a loving mother, devoted grandmother, cherished sister, treasured friend, and a source of unwavering love and strength to everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her kindness, gentle spirit, and selfless nature touched countless lives. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome, loved, and valued.
More than anything, she loved her family. She celebrated our joys, carried us through our sorrows, and taught us by example the importance of compassion, faith, resilience, and unconditional love. Her laughter could brighten any room, and her warm embrace made every place feel like home.
She found happiness in life's simple blessings—time spent with those she loved, quiet moments of reflection, and creating memories that her family will cherish forever. Her legacy will live on through the values she instilled, the traditions she created, and the endless love she gave so freely.
She is lovingly survived by her son, Tommy Barton, her daughter, Colleen Key, son-in-law, Glen Key, daughter-in-law, Jeanne Barton. Granddaughter, Christina Bishop, and grandson-in-law, Drake Bishop. Her sister, Nancy Entriken and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Jimmy Barton, brother, Jim Knocke, and her parents.
Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that her love will remain with us always. She will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and endlessly loved.
A memorial service will be held on July 17th at First Baptist Church of Umatilla. Visitation is at 3:00pm, service at 4:00pm, and meal with the family at 5:00pm. Family and friends please join us to celebrate a life that was truly a blessing to all who knew her.
"A mother's love is forever woven into the hearts of her children. Though she is gone from our sight, she will never be gone from our hearts."
