Wendell "Rich" Stiver, 78, passed away peacefully on May 24, 2026. Born in Meadville, Pennsylvania, he was the beloved son of the late Wendell William and Lois Kathryn Stiver. In 1955, Rich moved from New Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, to Mount Dora, Florida, where he built a life, raised a family, and formed many lasting friendships over the years. Rich worked for many years as an automobile mechanic, a career that reflected his strong work ethic, steady hands, and willingness to help others. He took pride in honest work and was known for his dependability, strength, and dedication to those he loved. He was truly one of a kind - a larger-than-life personality who never knew a stranger and could recite local history like no one else. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and a good meal. Above all, Rich cherished his family. He is lovingly remembered by his son, Chad (Tonya) Stiver of Astatula, Florida; his daughter, Tracy (Mark) Sharp of Eustis, Florida; his three grandchildren, Cierra, Jake, and Caley; and five great grandchildren who brought him great pride and joy. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew and loved him. Rich will be laid to rest with his wife, Sarah Stiver at Greenwood Cemetery, Eustis. A memorial service has yet to be planned...details will be shared at a later date.
