Betty L Burns

Betty was born in Mt. Carmel, Illinois on April 13, 1918 to the late Ernest Edward and Genevieve (Smith) Schrodt. She graduated from Deaconess School of Nursing. Betty worked as secretary and bookkeeper along side her daughter and was an integral part of Jan's School of Dance for more than 50 years. She enjoyed fishing, reading and playing cards with a talent of knitting personalized Christmas stockings for all of her children and grandchildren.

Betty is survived by her children, Janet Stovall (Wayne) of Orlando, FL, Perry Wallace "Wally" Burns III (Frieda) of Evansville, IN; daughter-in-law, Cathy Burns of Evansville, IN; 9 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Perry Wallace "Pete" Burns, Jr.; children, Barbara Bernardi, Barry Edward Burns; her parents; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Filer (Warren); brothers and sisters-in-law, Ernest Edward Schrodt (Maxine), Charles "Chick" Schrodt (Marjorie).

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, September 26, 2015 at Alexander Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 2200 Mesker Park Drive, Evansville, IN 47720 with Pastor Brian Parsley officiating. Burial will follow in the cemetery.
