Donald R Mitchell

Donald retired from Lewis Bakery and was a former member of Evansville Athletic Club and Grace Baptist Church. Donald enjoyed playing golf in later years and as a young man enjoyed playing all sports. He was a member of the Indiana Soft Ball Hall of Fame. He was the most wonderful husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Daisy (Cundiff) Mitchell; son, Jimmy Dale Mitchell (Teresa) of Evansville; grandson, Drew Mitchell (Jessica) of Evansville; brother, Richard Wayne Mitchell (Linda); sister, Joan Luckett, of Simi Valley, CA; and nieces and nephews.

He is preceded by his parents and brother Dale Mitchell.

Visitation will be from 3-7 pm, Monday, June 30, 2014 at Ziemer Funeral Home, Central Chapel, 626 First Avenue, Evansville, IN 47710.

Funeral service will be held at 11 am, Tuesday, July 1 at the funeral home with Rev. Tim Garrett officiating.

Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to Vanderburgh Humane Society, 400 Millner Industrial Dr, Evansville, IN 47710.
