

Dorothy M. Grossman, 91, of Evansville, passed away Monday, December 29, 2014, at Kindred-Indian Creek Nursing Home in Corydon, IN. She was born Dorothy M. Gentry on June 3, 1923, to the late Shirley O. and Edith (Hollingsworth) Gentry.
While last being employed by the Evansville Vanderburgh School Corporation as a custodian, Dorothy was an avid crocheter and greatly enjoyed making gifts for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She was also an accomplished seamstress and cake designer. She was a member of First Southern Baptist Church.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her husband, Robert W. Grossman, in 2009; sister, Dora Reich; and brother, Eugene Gentry.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Robert E. (Nancy) Grossman, Janice M. (Daniel) Coleman, and James W. (Carleen) Grossman; sisters, Betty (Robert) Busch and Joan (William) Robinson; grandchildren, Shannon Grossman, Kelly (Jeanne) Grossman, Erin Vu, Jeremy (Jennifer) Coleman, Matthew Coleman, Danielle (Nicholas) Perkins, Amanda (Bryan) Coghill, and Lauren Grossman; great-grandchildren, Nicholas Grossman, Andrew Gossett, Laura Grossman, Ella Grossman, Benjamin Coleman, Samuel Coleman, Allison Coleman, Margaret Coleman, and Mayson Coghill; and brothers-in-law, Gilbert G. (Betty) Grossman and Paul H. (Peggy) Grossman.
Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Friday, January 2, 2015, at Alexander West Chapel, officiated by Rev. Don Moore and Rev. David Cullison, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Thursday from 2:00 to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
