

Etta was a 1949 graduate of Reitz High School and earned her LPN license from the Evansville School of Practical Nursing. In 1986 she was particularly proud to earn her RN from the University of Evansville at the age of 55. She went on to work as an RN until her retirement at the age of 65.
Etta enjoyed traveling both nationally and internationally. She loved crafting, especially knitting, crocheting, cross stitch and sewing. She used these forms of needlework for many in need. Etta also enjoyed her time in the Eastern Star, having earned her 50 year pin just two weeks before her death.
Surviving Etta are her brother, George Spradley; sister, Aubyn Babbs; two sons and their wives, Cecil and Jennifer West and Johnny and Debbie West; a daughter and her husband, Peggy and Don Blume; six grandchildren, eight great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services for Etta will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday at Pierre Funeral Home, Rev. Gene Backes officiating. Entombment will follow in Alexander Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 3:00 until 8:00 P.M. on Wednesday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, where the Daughters of the Nile will conduct a memorial service at 6:00 P.M.
