

Hilda Dorothy Hammer, 93, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, May 26, 2015, at Hamilton Pointe. She was born February 9, 1922, in Dubois County, IN, to the late John L. and Elizabeth Lillian (Freyberger) Schott.
She retired from Stewarts in 1984 after 42 years in the food service industry. She was a member of Salem United Church of Christ in Huntingburg. She was the last remaining survivor of ten children.
Hilda was preceded in death by her husband, George Hammer; and daughter, Peggy Webb.
She is survived by her children, Terry (Nancy) Hammer, Linda (Ron) Shaw, Patricia (Scott) Moye, Jerry Hammer, and Brenda Hammer; son-in-law, Ken Webb; 13 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be 11:00 AM Monday, June 1, 2015, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. Denny Stevenson, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 PM and Monday from 10:00 AM until service time at the funeral home.
