Dear Uncle Jack,
You were always appreciated.
I've realized the true depth and breadth of your presence and influence you've had on my life. I've realized that your spirit, your influence, your character, and your strong presence were always invaluable to me.
you were a persona of calm, togetherness, firmness and gentleness with me, even when I drove you crazy.  Your influence on my personality, my drive to work through tough times and maintain a day by day focus, despite depression, was because of the image I have of you, in my mind. My vision of you, Uncle Jack, was in trying to reach your sense of character and be privileged to capture even a drop, of your manly mystique into my very being.
You've taught me to be fair, humble, kind, independent; to be an overcomer and to be open. In you I see the gift of inherit, impeccable perseverance and the richness born from a devotion to order. I strive to replicate your seemingly effortless dedication to loving others and personal care in the details of each task you completed. 
You have been the stick from which I measure the greatness of a man, and the example for which I have chosen to live my life. I am also grateful for your special kind of love and being one of my greatest teacher of giving and receiving.
You are loved; you will always be remembered by me as my guardian angel. You showed up in my childhood providing hope, providing kindness, providing direction. It's your life that helped me believe later-on that God exists; that God forgives; That God shows up in so many forms of love in our lives. 
You were the first form of God's love that I experienced in my angry young life of confusion and tribulation. You provided a place to stand, a place to understand, a place to grow. 
I love you Uncle Jack  you will be forever remembered by me.

Pa-Paw gave me his drafting tools. I loved architectural design and drafting. He took an interest in my hobbies. He taught me the beautiful art of needle point. He was a wonderful grandfather. I will truly miss him.
