

Jerry was born December 4, 1933 in Evansville. He attended St. Mary’s Elementary School and graduated from FJ Reitz High School. He then entered the United States Army and was stationed in Alaska. He retired from Kraft Foods after 36 years of service.
He was married to this lifelong partner of 60 years, Janice (Appel) Bowen.
He is now going to be with the Lord and his loving parents, Herron and Mable Bowen; sisters, Jean Goodge and Margie Curry; brother, William Bowen and daughter-in-law, Jamie Bowen.
Jerry was blessed with three children, Sandra (Terry) Vore, William (Dona) Bowen and Jerry (Amber) Bowen. He has six grandchildren, Tara Afonso, Bryan Bowen, Bridgett Bowen, Landen (Courtney) Bowen, Heather (DonPaul) Bowen and Keri Bowen and one great grandson, Caleb Swigard.
Jerry lived life to the fullest and enjoyed spending time with his family. His hobbies included fishing at the family lake, golfing and watching sports on television.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. on Monday, December 21, 2015 at Memorial Park Cemetery Heritage Chapel, Rev. Theodore Tempel officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery, where the Vanderburgh County Retired Veterans Memorial Club will conduct military rites.
Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 A.M. until service time on Monday at the Heritage Chapel at Memorial Park Cemetery. Pierre Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
