

Mark was born in Sterritt, West Virginia, on July 1, 1949, to Lois (Wells) Dixon and Don Brewer. He graduated from the University of Evansville in 1971 where he played football. In 1982, he founded Bethel Pentecostal Church where he was Pastor for 33 years. He loved teaching and working with people at the Safe House. On Saturdays, Pastor Brewer would reach out to the people of Evansville to invite them to church. Pastor Brewer always had a way of seeing the good in people. He always supported small churches, evangelists and foreign missionaries. His life revolved around his family and his church. He enjoyed being with his children and grandchildren. He especially enjoyed taking cruises and traveling with his family and friends.
Mark is survived by his wife of 47 years, Cheryl (Cherie) Brewer of Evansville, IN; daughter, Shannyn Giles (Richard) of Crossville, IL; son, Kevin Brewer (Shannon) of Evansville, IN; his mother, Lois (Wells) Dixon of Henderson, KY; stepmother, Aggie Brewer of Indianapolis, IN; sister, Regina Diffenderfer of Evansville, IN; brothers, David, Tony and Michael Brewer all of Indianapolis, IN; stepbrother, Terry Dixon of Greenfield, IN; sister-in-law, Mickie Fewell; grandchildren, Aleah Giles, Andrew Giles, Landon Giles, Claire Brewer and Collin Brewer. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
Mark was preceded in death by his father, Don Brewer, and his stepfather, Harold Dixon.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 30, 2015, at Bethel Pentecostal Church, 3421 Mesker Park Drive, Evansville, IN 47720, with Pastor Aaron Henson, Pastor Ted Totsch and Pastor Ron Tiller (Carrollton, KY) officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 2:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Monday, June 29, 2015, at Bethel Pentecostal Church and again from 10:00 AM until service time on Tuesday at the church.
Memorial contributions may be made to Bethel Pentecostal Church to be distributed to the ministries that Pastor Brewer supported and loved.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the doctors and nurses at Deaconess and Solarbron. They would also like to thank the therapists at St. Mary's Rehab for helping give him quality of life for the last two years of his life.
