

Owen was born in Evansville, Indiana on December 16, 1923 to the late William Louis "Louie" and Helen (Koenig) Moore. He graduated from Central High School in 1941 and went on to serve during WWII in the US Navy. Owen was proud to be a veteran and was on Normandy Beach during the invasion on D-Day. Owen owned Newman's Photo Service for many years. He eventually worked for Schmitt Photo where he retired in 1988. He was a member of the Photo Finishing Engineers and enjoyed fishing, walking and participating in the VFW Post #1114 activities.
Owen is survived by his daughters, Carol (Kevin) Williams of Poseyville, IN, Nancy (Glen) Main of Ft. Myers, FL, Gayle (Russ) Vick of Evansville, Linda (Drew) Swonder of Evansville and Lynne Clemmons of Ft. Myers, FL; son, Terry Moore of Ft. Myers, FL; son-in-law, Carl Hall of Evansville; sisters, Mary Jo, Shirley, Peggy, Jennie and Karen; brothers, Billy Joe and Thomas; 14 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Owen is preceded in death by his wife, Virginia "Ginny" (Newman) Moore; by his parents; sisters, Helen "Sis", Betty and Dorothy; and by his brothers, Charles and Richard.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, February 14, 2014 at Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 2200 Mesker Park Drive, Evansville, Indiana 47720 with Pastor Arlene Okey officiating where entombment will follow. Military rites will be given by the Retired Veteran's Memorial Club.
Friends may visit from 10:00 AM until the service time on Friday at the Mausoleum Chapel.
