

Paul W. Harper, 82, of Evansville, IN, passed away Friday, June 5, 2015, at St. Mary's Medical Center. He was born October 6, 1932, in Evansville, to the late Paul H. and Martha Eleanor (Wallace) Harper.
He was of the Catholic Faith, and is now enjoying his current residence with Carol in Heaven. He attended Bosse and Mater Dei High Schools, graduating from Mater Dei in 1950. He was a U. S. Army veteran, serving in Germany from 1952 to 1954. Paul began work at Mead Johnson in 1958 and retired in 1992. He worked in both the Warehousing and Purchasing Departments. He enjoyed bowling, softball, golf and tennis. Paul was a huge Atlanta Braves, Chicago Bears and IU Basketball fan. He learned to fly with his father and trained new pilots on how to "Fly the Beam."
Paul was preceded in death by his parents; his wife of 46 years, Carol (Miegl) Harper; sister, Pauline Davis; brother-in-law, Al Miegl; and sister-in-law, Ann Meritt.
He is survived by son, Chris Harper and his wife, Leah and their children, Aaron, Matthew and Benjamin; daughter, Cindy Byrd (Steve Wise); sisters, Clara Schroeder and Doris Schoettle; and brothers-in-law, Jesse Meritt and Clarence Davis.
A Private Family Service will be held.
Paul had a life-long love for animals, memorial contributions may be made to It Takes a Village Canine Rescue in Evansville.
