Rick was born in Evansville, Indiana on April 9, 1959.

Rick is survived by his wife of 30 years, Terry (Mallory) Mitchell; son, William Mitchell; future daughter-in-law, Stephanie Carden; his parents, Charles and Jo Ann (Vaupel) Hornbrook; sister, Sue (Jack) Smigel; brother, Rob (Julie) Hornbrook; father and mother-in-law, Archie and Faye Mallory; sister-in-law, Lisa (David) Menke; and nieces and nephews.

Rick was preceded in death by his father, the late Ronald W. Mitchell and his grandparents, William and Gertrude Vaupel.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, June 2, 2014 at Browning Funeral Home, 738 Diamond Ave., Evansville, IN 47711 with Brother Paul Strahan officiating. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 1:00 PM until 6:00 PM, Sunday, June 1, 2014 and again from 10:00 AM until service time on Monday, June 2, 2014 at Browning Funeral Home.
