

Robert Maurice Lear, 80, of Evansville, passed away Friday, January 24, 2014, at New Harmonie Healthcare in New Harmony. He was born February 26, 1933 in Evansville, to the late James Voaid and Mattie Elizabeth (French) Lear.
He graduated from Reitz in 1950. In 1951, during the Korean War, he joined the US Navy AF Patrol Squadron, serving a total of six years. He loved all sports, especially Reitz Football. He was a member of Westside Christian Church for over 65 years.
Robert was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary Horstkettter, Elsie Kessler and Elizabeth Lear; brothers, James, Claude, Frank and Billy Lear; and grandson, Zak Lear.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Sue (Davis) Lear, whom he married in 1954; daughter, Lisa (Scott) Damm; sons, Bob (Judy), Jeffrey (Melody) and Michael (Kathy) Lear; grandchildren, Jarad, Ashley, Luke, Amy and Emily Lear and Isaac and Elizabeth Damm; and eight great-grandchildren.
Services will be 1:00 Monday, January 27, 2014, at Westside Christian Church, 1200 North Red Bank Road, officiated by Rev. Gary Brunson, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Sunday from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at Alexander West Chapel, 2100 West Illinois Street, and Monday from 12:00 PM until service time at the church.
