

Mr. Cooper had worked for Sterling Brewery for 25 years and for Fruit Growers and the Indiana Department of Transportation. He was a 1956 graduate of FJ Reitz High School. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and woodworking, but his grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of his life.
Surviving Poppy are his wife of 53 years, Mary (Strange) Cooper; three daughters, Cyndi (Kevin) Prindle, Ronda Torres and Jenny (Bernie) Mayer; a son, Jon Cooper; brother, Gary Cooper, all of Evansville; ten grandchildren, Amanda (Eric) Antey, Craig (Christa) Prindle, Clay (Samantha) Prindle, Nathaniel and Nicholas Torres, Deven Cooper, Cooper, Chloe, Peyton and Blaine Mayer; six great grandchildren, Maggie, Stella and Parker Antey, Lucas, Brady and Graham Prindle, several nieces and nephews and Ron’s in-laws.
Ron was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Edith Cooper; by two brothers, Raymond and Richard Cooper and by a son-in-law, James Torres.
Funeral services for Ron will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, March 30, 2015 at Pierre Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may visit with the family from 1:00 until 6:00 P.M. on Sunday at Pierre Funeral Home, 2601 W. Franklin Street, where there will be a memorial service conducted at 5:00 P.M.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Mark Browning, Horizon Health Care; especially Ron’s nurse Linda and to the DaVita Dialysis Center and all of his favorite nurses there for their compassionate care of Ron during his illness.
