

Violet was born August 14, 1915 in Ohio County, Kentucky the daughter of the late Alphonzo and Bertha (Bryan) Hamilton. She was a member of St. Benedict Cathedral. Violet had worked at The Evansville Store, DeJong’s Department Store and retired from Schultz’s Department Store. She loved her family immensely and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Violet also enjoyed dancing and was a member of Central Turner’s Club.
She is survived by daughters, Judy Thies (Edward), Mary Jane Zausch (Edward) and Kathleen Lorenz (Richard), all of Evansville, sister, Shirley Thompson of Henderson, KY, 8 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband of 73 years, William Haas in 2008 and sisters, Daisy Heichelbech, Charlotte Compton and Elizabeth Garnett.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 am, Wednesday, April 9, 2014 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel - 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville with Father Gene Schroeder officiating. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum.
Friends may call from 3 pm until 7 pm, Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Boone Funeral Home - East Chapel.
