Virginia Doris Day Dixon

She was a supervisor at Shane's Uniform and a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed ceramics, singing, dancing, and crocheting. Doris never met a stranger. She was a longtime member of the Heritage Baptist Church.

Doris was preceded in death by her first husband, Ronny Herbert; second husband, Bill Dixon; sister, Jane Bruner; and daughter-in-law, Rita Herbert.

She is survived by her son, Steve Herbert of Boonville, IN; grandchildren, Wendy (Russell) Johnson and Chris Herbert; great-grandchildren, Taylor, Hunter, and Savannah; brother, Benny Day; and sisters, Jean Greenberg and Susie Morse.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Thursday, February 9, 2017, at Alexander East Chapel, officiated by Rev. William Barnes, with burial in Alexander Memorial Park. Friends may visit Wednesday from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at the funeral home.
