

Wanda M. Fahrlender, 86, of Evansville passed away at 4:55 am, Thursday, April 6, 2017 at Parkview Care Center, surrounded by loved ones as they sang to her one of her favorite hymns, “I’ll Fly Away”.
Wanda was born August 27, 1930 in Johnson, Indiana, the daughter of the late Thomas and Ida (Lot) Nelson. Though her long life was touched by many great tragedies, she passed, embraced by the love of her family and friends, on whom her resilience has left a lasting impression.
She is survived by son, Randy Fahrlander (Lisa) of Evansville; brothers, David (Carol) and Timothy Nelson; and her 6 grandchildren, Elizabeth, Molly, Sally and Emily Fahrlander and Andrea and Erica Fahrlender.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Louis Fahrlender; children, Judy Brown and Brian Fahrlender; sister, Shirley Pace and brothers, Larry Nelson and James Nelson.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 5 pm until 9 pm, Thursday, April 13, 2017 at New Bethel Southern Baptist Church, 4301 Broadway Ave., Evansville. Burial will be Private.
Boone Funeral Home East Chapel-A Family Tradition Funeral Home, 5330 Washington Ave., Evansville will be handling the arrangements.
