I served on the Vanderburgh County Council for 4 years with Bill Miller and this man was a credit to the school corporation, Vanderburgh County and to mankind.  He will always be remembered by me with kind thoughts.  Paul Kinney

Very few basketball goals could standing the pounding of kids from Chandler Ave. and Bayard Park Dr. in the late 60s, but the one Mr. Miller erected in the the back of your home driveway did. Just like that goal I'll always remember Mr. Miller for his strength. Later in life it was his kind encouragement... growing up as a child in the neighborhood and then being privileged to serve on the Evansville African American Museum Board of Directors with him for several years was truly a Blessing for me.

Mattie and Kori, I am sorry to hear about Will's passing. I have fond memories of him. He was a genuinely nice person with an easy smile and mellow disposition. I'm sure the wonderful comments and memories people share with you here online and over the next few days will reaffirm for you how much he was loved and admired.

I am very shocked and sorry to hear the passing of a very good man. As others have noted, he was ALWAYS on the side of people who came from the wrong end of the track. He cared about the people surrounding him. "Second chance" was his middle name. He always made me feel at ease as a substitute teacher part of which enabled me to be a teacher at a private school. I ALWAYS loved his morning announcements, replete with pats on the backs and compliments concerning student achievements. I NEVER saw him without a smile and/or positive attitude. Now, he is in a better place. It hurts because someone who meant a lot to me is gone. But again, he's taken his positive demeanor where the angels will use it in a mighty way. They need him.

Mr.Miller was an awesome man. He was fair.firm and sensitive all at the same time. He was principal of McGary when my daughter was there. He once told me " Nothing will come before my children" and he showed that in many ways. My daughters graduated 8th grade and he retired the same year. I made him a banner and had all the 8th graders sign it. When we presented it to him he cried. It was given to him at the beginning of the year and hung in his office the entire year. He will be sorely missed. What a GREAT man.
