William R. Yancy, 76, of Evansville, passed away Tuesday, March 10, 2015 at his home.
Bill was born August 20, 1938 in Arlington, KY to Charles and Marie Yancy. He was a CEO at Washington Mutual Insurance Company in Chicago. Bill also owned his own construction business where he built houses from the ground floor up. Bill owned and operated the Ross Cinema for many years and also owned a cinema in Tell City, IN. Bill was a realtor for 30 plus years and taught real estate at UE for 35 years. Among many things, he will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor.
He is survived by his wife, Julia Yancy, son Dmitriy, daughter Nicole, all of Evansville; daughters, Pamela Nichols (John) of Colorado and Yvette Hunter (Roger) of Evansville; son, William R. Yancy II of Evansville; grandchildren Jason Nichols, Sarah Walters, and Danielle Buckland; great grandchild Anakin Nichols; and god daughter Nina Hankins.
He is preceded in death by wife, Sandra Yancy in 1992 and brother, Reverend Charles Yancy in 2007.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 am, Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel-A Family Tradition Funeral Home - 5330 Washington Avenue, Evansville with Pastor John Swain officiating. Entombment will be in Memorial Park Mausoleum, Evansville.
Friends may call from 2 pm until 8 pm, Friday, March 13, 2015 at Boone Funeral Home East Chapel-A Family Tradition Funeral Home and again from 10 am until time of service at 11 am, Saturday.
