Alice was born in Worden Montana on October 22 1913 and passed peacefully on September 27 2019 just shy of her 106th birthday. She was born to Daniel and Katerina Strombeck. They moved from Worden to Tacoma Washington for several years and then to Nordland Washington on Marrowstone Island in 1919 where they purchased land and a house. She grew up on that farm where she attended a one room school thru 8th grade and then attended Chimacum High School where she graduated in 1933. She went on to Seattle Pacific College and graduated as a teacher in 1937. She then taught elementary school in Hayes Washington in Thurston County, Swans Trail in Snohomish County and Shoreline in King County. She then moved to Juneau Alaska and taught for six years, one year in Ketchikan Alaska and three years in Fairbanks Alaska. She finished the last half of her teaching career in Seattle at Highline Park Elementary school and retired in 1974. She enjoyed traveling, photography, dancing and crafting. She was a very kind, loving and elegant lady who will be missed tremendously by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister Flora C. Isaksen. She is survived by her niece Karen Vaughn of Bremerton Washington and various cousins in Washington State, Sweden and Finland. No service was held at her request.
