Anna Heida was born on January 29, 1921 to Peter and Clara Fischer in Sacred Heart, Minnesota. She was the second oldest of eight children, attending a country school through the 8th grade then helping at home caring for her younger siblings.
Anna and John Heida met church and were married on January 29, 1941 during a blizzard. There were 6 foot snow drifts on their wedding day making it difficult for their bridal party guests to arrive. They lived in Minnesota until 1975 when they moved to Everett to be near their daughters. They attended Westminster Presbyterian Church and enjoyed their home at the Fairway Estates. They had two daughters and were married 61 years prior to John passing away in 2002.
Anna was a hard worker all of her life. She made sure there were always baked goods for her guests. Baking, gardening, pulling weeds and doing puzzles were her favorite pastimes. She delighted in playing on the floor with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
On her 90th birthday she suffered a stroke and moved from her home to a wonderful adult family home; Two Pines in Everett where she was lovingly cared for by her “second family” Florica and Marcel. She passed away on September 8th with her family at her side. She is survived by her daughter’s Sharon Carlson of Poulsbo and Jan Dexter of Everett, seven grandchildren; Craig Carlson (Zena) of California, Kim Briggs (Dan) of Poulsbo, Brett Carlson of Poulsbo, Chris Carlson (Samantha) of Indianola, Kristin Wojahn (Chris) of Everett, Jennifer Crippen (Jason) of Spokane and Stephanie Hopper (Mark) of Everett as well as 17 great grandchildren and 3 great- great grandchildren. She has one sister; Irene Kirkpatrick (Jim,) living in Iowa. She was preceded in death by her husband John, six brothers and sisters and one son-in-law.
Funeral Service will be held on Monday, September 17th at 1:00 p.m. at Evergreen Funeral Home in Everett. Viewing will be from 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM. Reception will follow the service.
