Anna Margaret McDannald (Tuengel) went to meet the Lord on November 24, 2012. She was born in Snohomish, WA on November 3, 1921 to Herman and Elizabeth Tuengel. She had two brothers and two sisters. She attended the Zion Lutheran Church Elementary School in Snohomish and when the family moved to Everett she attended Everett schools. Later the family moved to the Clearview area of Snohomish. She married Kenneth C. McDannald on November 14, 1942 at Zion Lutheran Church in Snohomish.
While her husband was on active duty in the Navy, she worked at Fort Lawton in Seattle with her father. After the war she and her husband moved to Everett where they lived and raised four children, two boys and two girls. The family became members of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Everett. She was a fulltime mother who enjoyed her family, church, and sports like softball and bowling. She enjoyed all family get-togethers, especially camping and fishing, usually catching the biggest and most fish.
She worked outside of the home only when her husband was finishing his college degree at Northwestern University. In 1979 she and her husband moved to Camano Island and became active members of Camano Lutheran Church. She and her husband were dedicated, active, and strong members of the Lutheran Faith. In 1988 after her husband retired, they moved to Pateros, WA and they became active members of Hope Lutheran “MS” Church in Brewster, WA.
Anna is survived by her children, Kenneth McDannald (Susan) of Arlington, Anna Downey (Michael) of Stanwood, Mary Pyles of Pateros, and Howard McDannald (Joe Kemp) of Clark Fork, ID, grandchildren Shellie, Jennifer, Sara, Darcy, Michael, and John, great-grandchildren Emma, Mason, Nicholas, Kyle, Sydney Anaken, and Elizabeth. She was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years Kenneth C. McDannald, both of her parents, her step-mother Carrie Mansur, brothers Ernie and Raymond Tuengel, sisters Ella Fredrickson and Clara May, and grandson Michael John Downey. Anna spent her final days at Madeleine Villa in Marysville, where she received excellent care and made many friends.
The family would like to express their deep appreciation for the loving and compassionate care extended to our mother by “THE MADELEINE VILLA FAMILY OF EMPLOYEES”. A Public Visitation will be held from 4:00-8:00pm at Evergreen Funeral Home. A celebration of Anna’s life will be held at 11:00am, Thursday, November 29 at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4504 Broadway in Everett. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be made to Hope Lutheran Church in Brewster, WA.
