Betty Louise Poole, age 90, of Everett, Washington passed away on Saturday, October 25, 2025.
Betty was preceded by her husband of 68 years Carl Poole and her parents, Florence and Luther Gronseth and sister Ann Charlene (Gronseth) Grigery. She is survived by her brother-in-law Thomas Grigery and her 3 children, Kevin, Alan and Deana with 13 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 4 great-great grandchildren.
Betty was born on September 6, 1935, as Betty Louise Young in Little Rock, Arkansas. Later adopted around age 10 by Florence and Luther Gronseth and assumed her adopted parents’ last name. Betty grew up at Clearwater Dam near Piedmont, Missouri. Betty’s father was the Dam Tender and the local Southern Baptist preacher. Her faith in Christ was the cornerstone of her entire life.
In 1955, Carl Poole convinced her to marry him, they were married on October 9th. She made him work for it. Their love for each other was a constant and visible thing throughout the rest of their lives.
Betty supported her husband in his Military career and worked as a Hairdresser until the birth of their first son, Kevin. She had many stories from those early years, sharing a single TV dinner because they couldn’t afford 2 while congregating in the parking lot of Base housing watching TV with the neighbors; only 1 person had a TV.
Betty was a faithful wife, loyal to her Christian beliefs of “Jesus then Others then You” and loving mother. She will be greatly missed.

I AM FREE
Don’t grieve for me, for now I’m free
To follow the path God made for me.
I took His hand when I heard Him call.
I turned my back and left it all.
I could not stay another day,
To love, to laugh, to work or play.
Tasks left undone must stay that way,
For I found peace at last, that day.
If my parting has left a void,
Then fill it with remembering joy.
A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss,
Oh yes, these things I too will miss.
Be not burdened with hearts of sorrow.
My wish for you is the hope of tomorrow.
My life’s been full, I’ve savored much,
Good friends, good times,
a loved one’s touch.
Perhaps my time seemed much too brief,
Don’t lengthen it now with undue grief.
Lift up your heart and share with me,
God wants me now --- He’s set me free.
