Billie Cua Chen

Billie Cua Chen, age 88, of Everett, Washington passed away on Friday, September 15, 2023.

Our dearest mother took her final journey to heaven to be reunited with our father Abraham (Pin Hong) and our youngest brother Arvan.

Born in Manilla, Philippines to Leon Cua and Justa Go, Billie was third in line amongst her 3 brothers, William, Wellington, and Warren. She was surrounded and beloved by family and she was never lonely as she had 100's of uncles, aunts, cousins and second cousins. Billie earned her Home Economics degree at the University of Santo Thomas, Philippines, in 1959. She met our father while at work and was married on November 28, 1962. In search for a better life, Billie and Abraham were forced to live apart for 3 years while Abraham established a life in United States with the 3 oldest sons and Billie staying in the Philippines with the 2 youngest boys and 2 girls. The family was finally reunited in 1980 where they established their new life in Everett Washington where she lived all her days.

Billie was grounded in her Catholic faith, a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a sweet and humble person. She loved being surrounded by family and that is all she ever wanted. She enjoyed outings and family gatherings, watching the Seahawks, the Super Sonics and As The World Turns, playing penny slots and BINGO, doing jigsaw puzzles, and bargain shopping.

Billie leaves us with full hearts and cherished memories, and she will be sorely missed. She is survived by her four sons, Samuel, Samson, Benjamin, and Asher, her two daughters, Janet and Katherine, her eight grandchildren: Lily, Liam, Ethan, Ryan, Brendan, Gavin, Nathan, and Rachel, and her one great granddaughter, Eleanor.

A funeral mass will be held on Friday October 20, 2023 at 11:00 am at Blessed Sacrament Parish, 5041 9th Ave NE, Seattle WA 98105.

A graveside inurnment for Billie will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 10:30 AM at Evergreen Funeral Home and Cemetery, 4504 Broadway, Everett, WA 98203.
