Carolyn Roseann Cox was welcomed into the world on December 27, 1940 in Everett Washington by Charles and Irene Barnett. Carolyn was the oldest of their four children and leaves behind her two brothers, Charlie and Les and her sister Julie.
She was a cute baby and the apple of her father’s eye! He carried her picture along in his wallet while he was away in the war, and that picture won him first prize in a baby photo contest.
She worked at her family‘s restaurant starting out as a dishwasher and working her way up to bookkeeper. And raised three children David, Tammy and Benjamin. She worked long hours at the restaurant and caring for her children.
She and her husband Michael relocated to North Dakota and one of their favorite activities was taking a road trip to someplace they’d never been before along with many trips back and forth between North Dakota and Washington.
She had a sharp mind and she and her daughter Tammy could whip together a 1000 piece jigsaw puzzle in practically no time at all. Over the years she amassed quite a collection of jig saw puzzles and she was a wiz at completing them until her very last days. Although, she did made exceptions for those impossible one color paintings and a certain painter whose painterly edges were way too fuzzy to make good clues.
She loved animals and often took in strays. She was feeding and keeping ducks, and she had a family of skunks she adopted. She loved her family especially her grandkids and her grandson reports that she was the best grandma ever.
The family would like to thank her caregivers at 1 AAA Absolute Home Care especially Joseph, Nuri and Mimi.
