Charles Thomas (Tom) McConnell, son of the late Beverly Charles and Lorraine Rose McConnell was born on December 12, 1947 at 2:55pm in Port Hueneme, California. Tom was a graduate of the University of Santa Clara where he majored in English and also played football. After college, his love of movies and the arts led Tom to pursue acting at the ACT in San Francisco. He was cast in several commercials over the years but his biggest adventure was his big debut as the mysterious Shawn on the Young and the Restless in 1984. After a long career of chasing his dreams, he then decided to stick with the arts, this time behind the scenes. He began his work as a stagehand for multiple shows/concerts with IATSE Local No 15 so that he could keep his love of the arts close to his heart. Tom was a dedicated worker who could recite lines from numerous Broadway plays and movies. He could imitate character voices in the blink of an eye and his witty nature was captivating. He was an encyclopedia of information and his use of humor was something we all should have in our lives. His wonderful life and laughter will graciously be carried on by his sister Patricia King, his brother in law Bill King, his nieces Shanna King and Carrie Zocchi, his nephew in law Justin Zocchi and his great nieces Alyssa, Katie and Emma Zocchi. His life will be remembered and cherished with some words of wisdom from William Shakespeare- "Time is very slow for those who wait, very fast for those who are scared, very long for those who lament, very short for those who celebrate but for those who love, time is eternal." We will miss you Tom.
