Choua Siong (Nstuab Xyooj) was born in Roob Kho Siab in Laos where she met and married her husband, Ntxuav Rwg Thoj, before settling in Tsua Pau. Between Roob Kho Siab and Tsua Pau, Nstaub gave birth to 14 children. Out of 14, only 3 children survived: daughter Nkauj Nyiag and sons Nom Tsab and Xeev Tsom.
Nstuab and Ntxuav Rwg would move to Qab Tsuas Fib Xes where he would later pass away from illness. Nstuab would then resettle in Tiaj Xib with Nom Tsab and Xeev Tsom.
They would end up living in Tiaj Xib for a couple of years before moving on to Xualuang (in Luang Pabnpas) to escape war. They had friends and family in Roob Tsawb and they lived there for less than a year before once again fleeing from war to Phu Que and then to Phu Meev where they lived for another year until the country fell in 1975.
By 1975, Nstuab and her two sons fled to Thailand and stayed at Hoy Yoke refugee camp until 1980 before immigrating to Richmond, California. They lived in Richmond for about 5 months and then moved to Orem, Utah where they lived for another 5 months before finally settling in Seattle, Washington which would become her home for the remainder of her life. To make a living and provide for her children in a new land, Ntsuab often worked long hours during farming season doing labor outside in the sun and heat. Even though the labor was hard on her body, what got her through the work days were her children and the food she would be able to put on the table for them and the clothes she would be able to buy them.
Ntsuab is remembered as being a loving, selfless, and kind mother. She dedicated her life to raising her children, never remarrying, and being one part mother and one part father to them. When they went on to get married and have children of their own, she became the best grandmother to her grandchildren.
Ntsuab is survived by her 3 children, 16 grandchildren, and 38 great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by them all.
Choua will be honored at Evergreen Funeral Home, 4504 Broadway, Everett, WA 98203 with Funeral Service times on Friday, March 27, 2026, from 8:00 am to midnight; and on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 8 am through Sunday March 29, 2026, from at 12:00 pm. with graveside service at 12:00 noon at Evergreen Cemetery
