Cynthia Lee Kallinen, age 78, of Tukwila, WA, passed away on Thursday, April 20th, 2023.
Cyndi was born February 16th, 1945 at St. Luke’s Hospital in Seattle, WA. She was the 8th out of 9 children. She grew up in Tukwila and attended Foster High School. Cyndi resided in Tukwila, Renton and Burien most of her life and moved to Marysville in recent years.
She was a loving mother to four boys who gave her a run for her money! She loved her Seahawks (and hated them!). She enjoyed charter fishing with friends and loved ones. She also loved to crochet and many of us today still have blankets, potholders and stocking caps we will treasure always.
Cyndi attended Renton Vo-Tech where she graduated and worked for Boeing, Safeway and went to work for the State of Washington. She worked in the Welfare Department and was a court advocate for the rights and benefits of people. She retired from the state where she worked for over 25 years.
Cyndi was preceded in death by her father and mother, Elmer and Mary Brokaw, her brother, Doug; her sisters, Beverly, Patricia Kay, Sherry, and her son, Randy McDonald. She is survived by her son, Tim McDonald and his wife, Renee of Collinsville, Oklahoma; her son, Jerry McDonald of Collinsville, OK; her son, Stevan Kallinen and his wife, Stacey of Marysville, WA; 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, 1 “granddog” Birdie, her sisters Judy, Sandy, Frankie and Pam, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
