Born in Pasadena, California, he was the son of DeWayne Frank Scholtz and Eileen Mary Sweeney. He graduated from Duarte High School and was employed at large construction companies (Baugh, SD Deacon, and Skanska) as a super intendent and retired in 2010.
He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends and was an avid drummer. Since his youth he played with various bands, open mics, and events. He loved heavy metal and rock concerts. He will be remembered for his warm hugs, his humor, his laid back demeanor, his honesty, and his love for everyone around him.
He is survived by his wife (Eugenie Scholtz), his children (Ahren Scholtz, Desiree Adams, and Eileen Scholtz), sister (Barb Mackay), and cousin (Mary Anne Reed).
The funeral service will be held on Friday, September 21, 2018 at 2:00pm at Evergreen Funeral Home and Cemetery at 2:00pm. The viewing will be held from 1:00pm until the time of service.
