Obituary of David Valentine Brown
We are heartbroken to announce that our beloved son, David Valentine Brown (May 1, 1976 – July 24, 2022), entered Heaven’s gates ahead of us on Sunday at Good Samaritan Hospital in Puyallup, WA. He was preceded in death by his great grandparents, Marcella C. Brown (nee Besinius), Frederick H. and Jeannette E. Joehnk (nee Van Tyul); his grandparents George D. Joehnk, James H. and Renee P. Warren (nee Croson), Donald V. and Grace A. Brown (nee Shelley); his great uncle John Joehnk, aunt Margie N. Pickett (nee Brown); uncles Raymond F. Holland, Roger J. Feldman and William R. Bates; and his father-in-law L. Aroonparkmongkol. David leaves behind his loving parents Dan Brown and Mari Brown (nee Joehnk); his faithful partner Worawat Aroonparkmongkol; his devoted sisters Sarah Brown (Ulises Mejia-Moran), Emily Tjaarda (Mike Tjaarda) and Jeannette Brown (Chad Cox); his adoring nieces and nephews Kendra Brown (Andrew Gutierrez), Hudson Mejia-Brown, Arabella Mejia-Brown, Iyari "Emery" Mejia-Brown, Jaden MacDonald, Gennevi Brown, Andrew Tjaarda, Tyce Tjaarda and Wesley Tjaarda. Although David lived with us in Washington the past two-and-a-half years due to the pandemic, he called Ban Pong, Thailand home. He resided there with Worawat (Wat) his partner of twenty-two years. He leaves behind a large family of in-laws and many dear friends. David was known for his gentle patient spirit, enormous heart, and his listening ear. His brilliant mind retained information he could recall at will without hesitation. David genuinely loved people whether they sat on a throne or were homeless on the street. He had an innate gift to make others feel as if they were the only important person in the room when he listened to them. He loved “gifting wars” and always brought a smile to everyone’s face. David loved art and traveling, and he was adept at learning foreign languages and music. David was an honorably discharged Army Veteran who proudly served his country.
