David Leroy Dow, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away peacefully at the age of 95. Born in Everett, Washington, David spent his early years in the Everett-Snohomish-Lake Stevens area, where he also lived on a farm with his grandparents. At the age of 12, he moved to California with Judge Horace Barry Dow and Noreen Dow, and later attended high school in Nevada City, California. David often shared the adventurous tale of riding his horse from Nevada City to Nevada State to work on a horse farm at the age of 15. David joined the military during his senior year of high school and later met his beloved wife, Lucy Marie Zavattieri, in New York City. After their marriage, they returned to Lake Stevens, Washington, to raise their family. David, affectionately known as Roy, was a proud father to three children: David B. Dow, Danny C. Dow, and Judy Dow-Anderson. He was also a loving brother to Ronald Lou Grant. Roy had a long and fulfilling career at Boeing, from which he retired. An avid fisherman, David crafted beautiful fishing poles that became cherished gifts for family and friends. He also served as a Boy Scout leader when his children were young. In retirement, Roy and Lucy enjoyed camping with friends and playing card games. Roy had a passion for collecting coins and loved sharing this hobby with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Above all, family was the cornerstone of his life. He and Lucy shared an extraordinary 74 years of marriage, a true testament to their love and partnership. David and Lucy are survived by their children and spouses, David & Colleen, Danny & Sue, Judy Dow-Anderson & Ken. Grandchildren: Jared (Abby); Jayme; Martina (Barrett); Cory (Chrissy); Brandon (Kayla). Great-grandchildren: Wyatt, Braxton (Jared); Thomas, Kenzie (Jayme); Archer (Martina); Cole (Cory); Lily, Ryder, Levi (Brandon) along with many other family members and friends.
David LeRoy will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
A Fallen Branch
The strongest branch has fallen
From our family tree.
God had his way; he's taking me home,
So you need not grieve for me.
For many years He carried me
And kept me at my best.
He strengthened me and kept me strong.
For this we're truly blessed.
Hold strong to our family heritage.
Keep living your life through God.
Keep carrying on the traditions,
The big ones and the small.
Remember all the good times,
The happiness and the love.
Think of me when you reminisce
As I'll be smiling from above.
My mind's at ease , my soul has peace.
My body's now at rest,
For an angel came for me today
And said God needs the best.
The serenity of going home is a miracle
We all shall seek,
So please don't think of me and cry
With a tear upon your cheek.
I've lived and traveled long and hard
To reach my journey's final end,
So let's just say, "Goodbye for now,
Unit we're together again."
