David was born in Port Gamble Washington, the son of Floy and Glen West. David grew up in Innis Arden and graduated from Shoreline HS. After receiving his MBA from the University of Washington in 1968, he moved to Honolulu then Anchorage, returning to Washington state in 1977.
He dedicated many years of service working as a VP of REOs at Seafirst Bank and Cascade Bank. He then created and was CEO of Waterstone Inc. and Bankers Capitol, two small-business consultation firms.
Outside of work, David had a passion for boating, writing, and later in life he enjoyed Sundays at church. David loved spending weekends on his boat with family and at least a couple of dogs. Sailing the waters of the Salish sea could only be matched by sunning himself while philosophizing with friends and family in Hawaii. David’s heart was in Washington, but his soul tugged him daily towards the warm people of Hawaii. This professional bard graced us with his lyrics and his verse. He took people many places with his words. And he found the answers to his own questions thru his work. David found peace at church and treasured the friendships he found there. With a full heart and optimistic soul, he is off to his next adventure.
He is survived by his wife DeAnn, and his children Tami (Kevin) and Ron (Michelle) West. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Paul.
An open house memorial service will be held on October 10th from 10:00-3:00 at 5117 West View Drive Everett WA. There will be a chance to share your own stories about David at noon.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society
