Diane Marie Freund
May 5, 1937 – September 27, 2019
Diane Marie Freund was born May 5th, 1937, in Cincinnati, Ohio to Alfred and Madelon Arnstam.
Diane grew up in South Florida and marries William Joseph on April 7th, 1961 in West Palm Beach, Florida. Born to that union were Alfred, Florence, Anne Marie and William (Billy). Alfred preceded Diane in death at the age of 15.
Diane worked for the Mukilteo School District for 26 years. The majority of those years were spent at Mariner High School where she was dearly admired.
Diane leaves to mourn her dear friend, sister and play daughter, Joanie Oxentenko and her adopted grandson, Joanie’s son Todd. Diane and Joanie became fast friends over 20 years ago. The bond began as coworkers and soon blossomed into a great friendship.
During Diane’s cancer treatment in 2000, Dianne rededicated her life to Christ. Diane was very proud to boast that she conquered cancer. She also survived embolisms and many other health issues. Diane found great joy in her everyday life. She took time to stop and smell the roses, enjoy the rainbows and listen to the laugh of a child. She was an avid reader even up to her last days and could read two or three books a week. She cherished the little things in life, the things others seemed to forget. She enjoyed outings and especially the performances of the ballet group that Joanie was working with. Diane rarely missed a performance.
At Diane’s request there will be no service. Her friends will honor her in a ladies luncheon at a later date.
