Obituary of Donna Marie DEGEUS
Donna Marie DeGeus passed away at the age of 88 Years in Everett, Washington on January 17, 2022. Donna was one of five children born to John and Emma Norberg. She was raised in Everett and was a graduate of Everett High School. Shortly after graduation she began her family and her sons Richard, Dennis and Raymond were born. She met the love of her life, Phil DeGeus and they married January 19, 1968. Together they welcomed a son John, and along with Phil’s kids; Leon "Chris", Sharlene and Damon the family was complete. Donna and Phil enjoyed their life together in a way that most dream of. They lived in the same house they purchased in Everett and had no desire to ever move away. An evening out for them could be dinner and dancing at the Everett Legion or Payne Field with the in-laws, and a night in could mean staying home dancing together to an Elvis tune on their full size Jukebox. They enjoyed summer days at their cabin on Hat Island, loved to camp, playing pull tabs at the bar, loved water, and enjoyed taking trips in their motorhome to “Williams Lake” in Spokane. They had a boat that they affectionately named the “Donna Marie” which provided endless fishing trips with family. Together Donna and Phil loved caring for their many dogs and cheering on their favorite team….the Seahawks of course! Donna affiliated herself with Club 170, the American Legion and the VFW. She was an excellent hostess for many family holidays, her family remembers most fondly the Mother’s Day and Christmas Eve gatherings she made so special. She and her daughter Sharlene enjoyed trips to the salon together and made shopping for Christmas an annual event that they shared. It was easy to spend time with Donna, she was a quiet, giving and gracious woman. She also could not get enough of John Wayne and Elvis-they were her “other loves” but Phil was always first in her life. She was a very good and caring wife to him. She is predeceased by her sister Delores and Brother John and her sons Richard and Raymond. She is survived by her beloved husband Phil, her sons; Dennis, Leon “Chris”, Damon and Johnny and her daughter Sharlene, her grandchildren; Melissa, Jason, Andrea, Josh, Curtis, Rachel, Ray, Jessica, Cassandra, Joshua, Michael, Marcus, Desiree, Shere’e and Damon Jr. as well as numerous great grandchildren. She will be remembered as a woman of patience and love and will be missed by many.
