She met Bob when he was stationed at Paine Field. Dorothy was a member of the Dance & Figure Skate team (Krazy Kats) of Everett. Bob & Dorothy married in February 1950 in Everett, Washington and together they moved to Illinois where she became the wife of a farmer. After Bob injured himself on the farm they moved back to Washington in 1962 with the kids. She was a homemaker for many years where she grew her love for flowers, an impressive dahlia garden/vegetable garden. Together Dorothy and Bob would grow an impressive amount of produce which Dorothy canned to enjoy in the winter. She also joined Neighbors of Woodcraft and Thimble Club in Lowell where they made comforting things for the kids in the hospital.
Other hobbies were bowling, camping and she was always up for a party with dancing. Her greatest joy in her life was always her family. Their home was open to anyone that needed a meal or a place to crash. She was a devoted wife and a excellent mom who taught her children values, strong work ethic (while having fun at the same time), selflessness and most of all how to be kind and loving to others.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to The Cottages in Marysville, WA in Dorothy's name to the Alzheimer's Association. Dorothy was a resident there for over 5 years.
There will be a luncheon held following the service.
