

Dorothy Ellen Minor, 92, passed away on March 15, 2017. Dorothy was born to William R. and Mable E Brandenburg in Garrett, Indiana on November 18,1924. Dorothy’s father was killed in a railroad accident before she was born and she was raised by Raymond and Mable (Brandenburg) Stanford in Everett/Marysville, Washington area.
Dorothy married George L. Minor and they raised George’s children Rosalie, George David, Stephen and Daniel James plus Elise Minor along with Jo Ann and Maxine. Dorothy worked as a riveter during WWII, Spudnut Shop, Scott Paper, cashiering at various grocery stores and retired as a meat wrapper at Top Foods. Dorothy and George enjoyed square dancing, bowling, and traveling. Dorothy was a gifted gardener, wonderful cook and avid walker. Dorothy married Glen Grinnell spending many winters in Indio, Ca.
Dorothy was blessed with the loving care of Stanwood’s Josephine Sunset Home Memory Care Nurse John Smith, her last dancing partner after she developed dementia. We can’t say enough about the love and care that all the staff gave to mom for the last few years. She loved them more than they could ever realize.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her mother, father and step father; husbands, George L. Minor and Glen Grinnell; beloved brother, William Brandenburg; stepsons, George and Daniel James Minor; and stepdaughter, Rosalie.
Dorothy leaves daughters Jo Ann/David Miller, Maxine/Dennis Hanger, stepson Stephen/Judy Minor, and sister-in-law Eileen McStotts along with many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren friends and loved ones.
